Pounds + Ounces makes workplace catering in Hobart easy. Whether it's an early board breakfast, a working lunch for a project team or an afternoon farewell, we make the food fresh on the day and deliver it to your meeting room, ready to serve.
We cater for offices across the CBD and suburbs, training sessions, committee meetings and healthcare teams. Choose sandwiches and wraps, hot and cold platters, salads, individually packed boxes or one of our group packages. Every dietary item is labelled, so nobody has to guess what they can eat.
Delivery is free anywhere on the Royal Hobart Hospital campus. For the rest of Hobart we charge by delivery zone, from the CBD and Sandy Bay out to Glenorchy, Kingston and the Eastern Shore. Orders start at $100, and we're happy to quote custom menus for bigger events.

Early starts and breakfast meetings
For a 7:30am handover or board breakfast, choose a mixed breakfast box of muffins, petite danish and mini croissants. You can also order breakfast sliders on brioche, toasted breakfast tortillas, breakfast Turkish or bagels, with individual fresh fruit salads for a lighter option.
Lunch for teams, wards and visitors
Our lunch range is built around bread made into something worth eating: quartered sandwiches, gourmet halves, freshly baked baguettes and tortilla wraps. Add hot platters, salads and cold platters from the menu to round it out. Order a mix of fillings and we'll balance meat, vegetarian and vegan options across the platters.
Morning and afternoon tea
Sweet bites, pastries and fruit are ideal for a mid-morning break in a long training day, or a farewell cake-and-coffee moment on the ward.

Rise & Shine ($158.50, serves 12): small seasonal fruit platter, 12 mini croissants, 12 petite danish and two 1L orange juices.

Browse the menu on our online ordering site and add items or a package to your cart.

Choose a date, time and place. Within the Royal Hobart Hospital campus, tell us the building, level and room. Elsewhere in Hobart, enter the full address and the zone fee is added.

Add dietary notes at least 2 days ahead, so we can prepare the right items and label them.

We deliver and set down at the agreed time. Courier deliveries can vary by around 10 minutes with traffic.

We collect any reusable platters or hired items afterwards, at a time that suits you.

Dietary needs and allergens
Our online menu marks dairy-free, egg-free, gluten-free, lactose-free and nut-free items, along with vegetarian and vegan choices. Send final dietary requirements 2 days before your event and we'll suggest substitutes if an item isn't available.
Our kitchen handles wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, egg, milk, fish, soy, sesame, lupin and bee products. Items may contain traces of these, so list every allergy on your order.
Catering questions
Is delivery free to the Royal Hobart Hospital campus?
Yes, and it costs nothing on any day of the week. The $100 minimum order still applies. Tell us the building, level and room when you order.
Can you deliver elsewhere in Hobart?
Yes. Weekday fees are $30 within about 2 km of central Hobart (CBD, North Hobart, Battery Point), $40 to about 5 km (New Town, Sandy Bay, Lindisfarne, Bellerive), $64 to about 10 km (Glenorchy, Moonah, Taroona, Howrah) and $89 to about 15 km (Claremont, Kingston, Lauderdale). Weekend delivery is $150 in any paid zone.
How much notice do you need?
Please confirm your menu and dietary requirements at least 2 days before your booking. For same-day orders, phone us on (03) 6236 9827 and we'll do our best.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes. The minimum catering order is $100, and orders delivered within the Royal Hobart Hospital campus travel free.
How do I pay?
We accept EFT, cheque, Visa, MasterCard and AMEX (a card surcharge may apply). First-time customers pay a 50% deposit when the order is confirmed, and the balance is due within 7 business days after the event.
Can we pay by purchase order or hospital cost centre?
Yes. Contact us and we'll set you up in our system with your purchase order or hospital cost-centre details, and regular customers can be invoiced on account.
Do you cater for gluten-free, vegan and other diets?
Yes. Our menu marks gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, lactose-free, nut-free, vegetarian and vegan items. Because allergens are present in our kitchen, mention any allergy at the time of ordering.
What if I need to cancel?
Let us know at least 24 hours before (48 hours for larger orders). Charges may apply for stock or labour already committed.
